Stint in the Tent

In 2017 Loaves and Fishes (a local soup kitchen) held its very first fundraiser in their 33 years of serving the homeless in Biloxi. Volunteers would sleep in a tent at Loaves and Fishes to help raise funds and shed light on the plight of the homeless. The tents and sleeping bags would then be donated to Loaves and Fishes and they would distribute them to the homeless population they serve. Volunteers that raised $500 would not have to stay the night in the tent.

Elders Dr. Megan B. Craven and Regina L. Rhodes have participated in the Stint in the Tent since 2017 and although they raise the required amount to not sleep in the tent they have done so to help raise awareness of the issues of the homeless population on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
